A Few of Our Favorites!

Andrew always keeps us on our toes and laughing...

Here are a few new things he enjoys right now:

Andrew is our big boy helper! He always wants to do what mommy and daddy are doing. Here he is helping daddy with his swing set. He saw Brad tighening the bolts on the swing set, so he picked up one of Brad's tools and started hitting the bolts with it.

Coloring is something Andrew is "learning to enjoy". He does not have a lot of patience for coloring, he prefers to be on the move. He will sit at his table and color for a few minutes at a time. He looks like such a big boy when he sits at his table!

Taking his diaper off is a new favorite past time. We have had two incidents of finger painting with poop. One morning he "slept" late... or so we thought. We went in around 9:00 a.m. to check on his and he was happy as could be and covered in poop! Gross!! Another time after he took a nap, he decided he was bored, so he decided to do more painting with poop... In the pictures below, he was trying to take his diaper off because he did not want to go to sleep... He could not finish taking it off because he was so tired! We did wake him up and put a new diaper on him. Thank goodness we caught it before he made a mess!

Today he enjoyed wagon rides! We went all over the front yard and back yard. When we would hit a bump, he would say whoow!

He also helped daddy lay some top soil down around his swing set. He was very messy, but a big helper!

This afternoon he helped me by taking the lid off of the vinegar in the pantry and spilling vinegar all over the floor. Then he decided to take all of the lunchboxes and put them in the office. He loves to help carry things. He will carry the trash bags and even his diaper genie bags to the trash can outside!

Minnie is a really good sport when it comes to putting up with Andrew's requests/ demands (especially for a dog that is almost 13 years old). The other day, Minnie was minding her own business and sleeping in the dirty clothes basket. She likes to do that pretty often. Andrew decided that Minnie needed to go for a ride, so he pushed her around the house in the laundry basket over, and over, and over! She would jump out after a while and I would put her back in. It was quite entertaining! Andrew loves to give Minnie hugs and kisses. Sometimes he pulls her ears and gets in trouble, but Minnie is very forgiving and patient.

Andrew had his 18 month check up on Wednesday. He is very tall for his age... 34 3/4 inches tall. He is developing and growing just as he should... even with all of the sinus issues he has been dealing with. Andrew is trying to declare his independence and we are working on manners. He loves to say please and thank you. He tells people hello and bye. He waves a lot, laughs all of the time, and seems to talk constantly... in his own language. He does say words like mommy, daddy, Minnie, more, mine, dog, all done, alright, and yeah... Each day he seems to say more and more...
