Almost 9 Months and Already Helping With Chores!

Andrew will be 9 months on Thursday. Tonight he was helping us unload the dishwasher! He is a very very busy little boy! Some of his favorite things are: playing with things with wheels, opening drawers and cabinets, playing with Tupperware, playing with empty boxes and plastic containers, banging things, standing by the window and hitting the window, playing chase with mommy and daddy.

We have been REALLY busy lately. On Labor Day we went to the Fort Worth Zoo. Andrew really liked the fish and the giraffes. He was a bit overwhelmed at first, but he really seemed to enjoy our first visit to the zoo.

The Tuesday after Labor Day, I ended up with a stomach virus. YUCK! Andrew wasn't running a fever, but he might have had a touch of it and given it to me. I gave it to Brad, so our family was a bit out of commission for about a week.

Two weeks ago we went to San Antonio to celebrate my mom's birthday. He did really well on the drive down to San Antonio. We had a great weekend and Andrew had a lot of fun at Mimi and Grampy's house. He got a lot of new Jackson Hole clothes. He also got a special duck that sings and dances to "Splish Splash I Was Taking A Bath". Andrew loves to play with his duck after he has his bath time! While we were at my parents' house, Andrew discovered stairs. We do not have stairs at our house, so we are going to have to practice at other people's homes! Andrew liked going up the stairs. He especially liked when everyone would clap and say "yeah Andrew". He thought he was too cute! (And so did all of us!)

The Sunday we left, my dad, sister, and brother got the stomach virus. The next day my mom and brother-in-law had the stomach virus! AHH! We were just passing it around the family.

This Friday we went to Stride Rite and got Andrew 2 pairs of shoes. Nee and Pa bought Andrew his first pair of shoes! We decided Andrew was in need of good supportive shoes because he has been starting to walk while holding onto the couch! Andrew LOVED getting his new shoes. We are still waiting for one pair to arrive in the mail. He is getting SOOOO big and fast. Andrew is wearing his shoes regularly and seems to like them. At the store there were other children getting shoes and he was trying to talk to all of them. He had a great time!

Andrew now has 5 teeth! He got 3 in one week! Right now he is working on a 6th tooth... Andrew is a very happy baby and loves to play. He is crawling everywhere and playing with everything. This weekend Brad taught Andrew how to slam dunk a basketball! He has his own little basketball hoop and little basketballs. Now everything goes through the hoop.

He is growing and changing every day and we are loving watching him grow up. I'll try to update the blog more frequently... I am having some trouble balancing everything with work, but I am continuing to work on it. As the year goes on, things will get easier. Andrew goes for his 9 month check-up on Friday afternoon. We'll keep you updated on his progress.

Have a wonderful week!
