A Weekend of New Adventures

On Friday, Andrew and I went to my friend's house so Andrew could play with her son Bennett. It was our first official play date. It is nice to be able to visit with a friend. I also saw how active Bennett was... He is walking and moving everywhere... It made me a little thankful that I can still put Andrew down on the ground with a toy and he will play! I need to enjoy these times, because I know they will be ending soon!

Friday night we met Brad for dinner at Chuy's, one of our favorite Mexican food restaurants. We made it in time for the margarita specials... Many young people where there for happy hour, but we were there at 5:30 p.m. for dinner. Andrew looked adorable in his pin-stripped shorts, collared shirt, and sweater vest from his Aunt Renay and Uncle Robert. He looked so grown up! Andrew was really good during our dinner and Brad and I even managed to enjoy a margartia. It made me think back to our first dinner outing with Andrew when he was 2 months old... We went to Patrizzio's, an Italian place. We quickly ordered our dinner and only drank water. Andrew was ready to be at home, so we scarfed down our food and left. We made it from our house, to the restaurant, ordered, ate, and where home in less than an hour. It was not too enjoyable to say the least. Boy can things change in a short period of time! We enjoyed our dinner at Chuy's.

On Saturday we went to my friend, Nancy's wedding. She got married in a small town East of Dallas, Grand Saline. It was Andrew's first wedding to attend and he had the perfect outfit for it! He wore a smocked outfit with crabs on it that Candy Mangnuson gave him for his Christening. Everyone commented on how cute his outfit was and how well behaved he was during the ceremony. I assured them that it was pure luck and nothing that we did to help him behave. We sat in the back ready to jet out in case of an emergency. The reception was beautiful and we had a great time introducing Andrew to some of my friends. Nancy was a beautiful bride! We were proud of Andrew for being so good! The car ride home was good for the first 45 minutes and then Andrew cried for the last 45 minutes home. He was tired and a little hungry. That night we were all so tired. Brad fed him his bottle before bed and was gone for a really long time. Finally I went into Andrew's room to make sure everything was okay and sure enough, Brad and Andrew were sound asleep in the glider. It was so cute, I had to get a picture!

On Sunday Father Salas joined us for dinner. Brad and I spent much of the afternoon getting dinner ready. As soon as Father Salas arrived, Stampy (my sister's dog- who we were babysitting) snuck through our fence for the second time this week. I politely excused myself to go find her and drove around in the car for a while! I was asking everyone outside if they had seen Stampy. Finally I checked my sister's voicemail for the 10th time and someone had left a message. Stampy was found and we were able to enjoy our dinner and visit with Father Salas. I was a little worked up, so I did not take any pictures! I will next time...

Well, Andrew also enjoyed practicing with the sippy cup and straw some more this weekend. He is getting better and better at it each time! He also is really trying to crawl. I imagine in another few weeks, he'll be moving all around! I am going to enjoy him not mobile right now! :)

Andrew got some new helmet stickers this week too! He now is sporting race cars! GO ANDREW!

Have a good week! I am sure we will have some interesting experiences this week!
